College of the Marshall Islands Solar Electrification Project

This grid connect solar system (119.300 kWp) is the first solar PV system connected to the grid in Majuro, capital of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
It is made up of the following components:

  • 300 x Evergreen 190W poly crystalline modules
  • 6 x Sunny Boy 7000US grid connect inverters 
  • 3 x Sunny Boy 5000US grid connect inverters
  • Custom designed and manufactured array frame

The system is located over six roofs in the campus of the College of the Marshall Islands and is part of the College's renewable energy strategy. On 26 March, 2014 the system was expanded to include:

  • 216 x SPVS 250W mono crystalline modules
  • 6 x Sunny Boy 8000US grid connect inverters
  • 1 x SMA sensor
  • Custom designed and manufactured array frame
