The Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States was held from 1 to 4 September 2014 in Apia, Samoa. It focused the worlds attention on a group of countries that remain a special case for sustainable development in views of their unique and particular vulnerabilities. The overarching theme of the Conference was " The sustainable development of small island developing States through genuine and durable partnerships". The Conference included six multi-stakeholder partnerships dialogues held in parallel with the plenary meetings. Samoa led the logistical preparations on the ground. SPC, amongst others was represented at the Conference. There were two historical events that the Economic Development Division (EDD) was involved in during the workshop- signing of the SIDS Dock statute and launch of the PRDR. The PRDR was launched at the SIDS Conference Side Event on Wednesday 3rd September 2014.
