The Pacific INDC workshop was held at Stamford Plaza Hotel, Auckland between 19 - 20 February 2015. Workshop was organized by the New Zealand Foreign Affairs & Trade and the Ministry for the Environment. Workshop was to share more discussion on the development of the Intended National Determined Contribution (INDC) document for PICS that is to be submitted for negotiation in the COP 21 meeting in Paris in December 2015.

The INDC Papers are due in October for the Developing countries. The workshop provided the opportunity for the New Zealand government to share experience to the PICs in preparing an INDC looking at emission reduction targets, data & policy processes and stressing again on the importance of evidence based informative contribution - Annual greenhouse gas inventory, National Communication and Biennial report.

Given that the mitigation component of the INDC will cover a lot of RET installation targets, SPC was invited to attend the workshop in its capacity as the lead coordinating agency for regional activities on energy. Mr Frank Vukikomoala, SPC Officer attended this workshop.
