Publication InformationThis report was prepared by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SREP). Report is produced in partnership between the Government of Tuvalu, EU, supported by NZMFAT, Government of Finland and PIGGAREP. PIGGAREP is funded through the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Samoa, and executed by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP). In February 2015, PIGGAREP sent a small team to the remote islands of Tuvalu to find out about how access to 24-hour solar power looks set to change people’s lives. This publication, and a companion film, document some of the discussions between the PIGGAREP team and local communities about the many benefits that will come about as a result of powering up remote Tuvalu by solar. keywords: solar, renewable energy, rural electrification, outer islands, awareness, TEC Authors: Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP)Source: Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP)Publication Category: Technical PublicationsPublication Thematic Areas: RenewablesElectricityCopyright: SPREPNumber of Pages: 16Year Published: 2015Countries covered: TuvaluAttachments: AttachmentSize tuvalu-final-web-nov15.pdf2.21 MB Author or contact sourceAuthor or contact source(s)Contact(s): Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) Organisation Type: Development & International PartnersOrganisation Country: SamoaOrganisation Short Name: SPREP Read more about Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP)
